Caractéristiques principales de la fourche à palettes
La manutention de charges avec une fourche à palettes présente plusieurs avantages. Par-dessus tout, une fourche à palettes est moins chère qu'une pince à briques, sa principale alternative. De plus, puisque la charge est palettisée et soulevée par le dessous, il est possible de soulever de nombreux types de charges, aussi bien des charges souples et flexibles que des charges solides. En outre, certains modèles de fourches à palettes peuvent simplement être accrochés, sans rotor ni connexion hydraulique. Il existe plusieurs types de fourches à palettes, elles se distinguent les unes des autres selon trois critères principaux : le poids des charges qu'elles peuvent supporter, le moyen de contrôle du centre de gravité et l'ajustement de l'étalement des branches.
